The new presses by All.co Group: a big technical, commercial and operational challenge.
Two new presses are what the All.co Group (www.allco.it) offers itself and all its customers in 2008. Installed at the group’s HTA-High Tech Aluminium plant in Pontedera, the new presses came into stream just a few days ago, producing aluminium profiles.
And while one has traditional dimensions (1,800 t power) despite a new design, the other is a gigantic Breda Danieli extruder with 5,000 tons of power and weighing 500 tons, equipped with Elhaus downstream systems. The new presses therefore represent a big technical, commercial and operational challenge for the All.co group. Last January, following a trial run period, the 5,000-ton press started to produce large extrudates destined for a variety of sectors such as transportation, the construction industry and some special applications in the building industry, for example sun breaker slats. Furthermore, this press is suitable for extruding alloys from the 7000 family, such as the 7003 and the 7020 for structural applications, a well as alloys from the 5000 family such as the 5083 and 5086 for marine applications and the 6082–6005A for mechanical engineering and automotive uses. A new age of technological and commercial growth is opening up for the company in a market area covered by a select number of manufacturers of large extrudates. Thanks to this major investment, the All.co Group expects to surge forward from 40 thousand to 60 thousand tons of aluminium extrudates produced annually, making it one of Italy’s foremost manufacturers in this particular field.
